The death of craft shows?

I have opinions about everything, this is just one.
It is my opinion that craft shows are in real trouble. I have been told by people coming into my booth several times that I am one of only a few that they believe are making their products. These were the patrons at the shows and were strangers to me. If the shoppers feel this way the shows are doomed.
It bugs me to no end that I have to sign a contract that says I made all my stuff, only to get to a show and see cheaters everywhere. Can't the promoters see it? or don't they really care? After all they make the same money from a reseller as an artist.
